Inland Diving in Texas
- Athens Scuba Park - Athens - Athens Scuba Park opened in 1987. They have 30+ wrecks to discover including planes, a house boat and a DART bus. There is a dive shop with air fills available; 2500 psi max / tank not older than 20 years.
- Balmorhea State Park - Toyahvale - a 46-acre state park located on the San Solomon Springs in Reeves County, Texas, opened in 1968. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department manages the park. The park is open year-round, and visitation is capped at 900 people per day.
- Blue Lagoon - Huntsville - has an air fill station, picnic areas, 2 lakes and other amenities.
- Canyon Lake - New Braunfels - 8,240-acre Canyon Lake is one of the deepest and most scenic lakes in Texas.
- Comal River - New Braunfels - the shortest navigable river in the state of Texas in the United States. Proclaimed the "longest shortest river in the world" by locals, it runs entirely within the city limits of New Braunfels in southeast Comal County. It is a tributary of the Guadalupe River.
- Guadalupe River - New Braunfels - It is cool and clear and is a refreshing place to dive in the summer. Also tubing and canoeing are big attractions.
- Lake Longhorn - League City - They have 10 acres of the lake reserved for scuba diving. If you want a close and convenient place for scuba diving, paddle boarding, swimming, fishing, or kayaking go check them out! They also offer other outdoor amenities for special events. Check in first at the Main Office (gun range office).
- Lake Travis - Austin - a reservoir on the Colorado River in central Texas in the United States. It is named in honor of William B. Travis. Serving principally as a flood-control reservoir, Lake Travis' historical minimum to maximum water height change is nearly 100 feet.
- Mammoth Lake - Clute - Once a sand pit, it now covers about 55 acres, offering an impressive collection of attractions that were placed here in advance.
- Meadows Center for Water and the Environment - San Marcos - now established as a Texas State University-San Marcos scientific diving area. They have a glass bottom boat and kayak tours and divers can volunteer to participate in various activities after completing their Diving for Science Authorization Course.
- Possum Kingdom Lake - Palo Pinto County - a reservoir on the Brazos River. It was the first water supply reservoir constructed in the Brazos River basin. The lake has an area of approximately 17,000 acres with 310 miles of shoreline.
- San Marcos River - San Marcos - The river rises from the San Marcos Springs, the location of the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, in San Marcos, Texas. The springs are home to several threatened or endangered species, including the Texas blind salamander, fountain darter, and Texas wild rice.
- Scuba Ranch Park - Terrell - a 22-acre spring-fed lake that has some of the most beautiful and natural habitat ever seen in a fresh water Texas lake.
- Twin Lakes - Manvel - just south of Houston near Hwy 288 and Hwy 6. It has a air fill station, picnic area and other amenities.
- Valhalla - Wingate - a decommissioned Atlas-F hardened nuclear missile silo located near Abilene, Texas. It is actually part of a complex of 12 silos located around Texas and formerly run by Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene.
